"Becoming the new steward of the Myofunctional Clinic of Bellevue is a milestone I cherish deeply. When I embarked on my first myofunctional training over two decades ago, it was an epiphany that shaped my professional destiny. The realization that 'This is my calling!' was profound and immediate. It is with immense pride that I work to uphold the standards of excellence and dedication set forth by Joe Zimmerman, Dianna Zimmerman, and Nancy Magar in the clinic's illustrious 50-year history”.

Who We Are

Amie is a highly experienced Speech Language Pathologist, holding a Master of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Oklahoma since 1993. With a career spanning over 30 years, she has honed her expertise in myofunctional which she has consistently applied in her practices for that last 20 years. Her extensive post-graduate training encompasses a broad spectrum of competencies, addressing issues related to myofunctional disorders, speech, language, voice, cognition, swallowing, and neurological conditions across a diverse age range, from children to geriatrics. Owning a myofunctional private practice has been the fulfillment of a lifelong dream, ever since her initial foray into this specialty over 20 years ago.

Outside the clinic, Amie's life is rich with family and personal interests. Together with her husband, Marc, they have raised three children. Their youngest daughter is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education with a Special Education focus at Western Washington University. Their two sons have carved their own paths; one as a personal trainer and business major working towards an MBA at Purdue Global University, and the other serving as an EMT in the Seattle area with aspirations of becoming a firefighter. The Seattle area has been their beloved home for a decade, where Amie enjoys the tranquility of country living, often spending peaceful moments on the patio with her family and their dog.

The Myofunctional Clinic of Bellevue, founded by Joe and Dianna Zimmerman in 1973, and later nurtured by Nancy Magar from 2002, stands as a beacon of unparalleled care in treating orofacial myofunctional and related speech articulation disorders. As Amie stepped into the role of owner in 2024, the commitment remains unwavering: to perpetuate the legacy of expertise and exceptional service that has been the hallmark of this community institution for over half a century.
